On May 27, 2009 the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published the second public notice of the proposed modifications to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Montgomery County. This marks the beginning of the 90-day appeal period initiated by FEMA. Formal appeals or protests must be submitted in writing to the Montgomery County Engineer's Office, 301 North Thompson, Suite 209, Conroe, TX 77301 by no later than close of business August 21, 2009. Montgomery County will forward all appeals and protests to FEMA for their review and processing.
